That's a very good question. I know some of you may already have full- or part-time jobs. But, working ebay is STILL possible. Allow me to explain how you can pull this off:
Suppose you have a M - F 9 - 5 job. I used to years ago. I more-or-less started selling on ebay as a hobby, for some extra spending cash each month. I would pull in an extra $100 or so each week. When I realized this could be an easy money-maker, as well as an easy work-at-home, full-time job, I decided I needed to find a routine that would work for me.
I decided to do most of my buying on weekends. I had more time, plus that's when the bulk of the yard sales are. Not only that, some of the thrift stores have 50% off sales on Saturdays. So, weekends were my buying days. Some weekends I did nothing all weekend. Other weekends, I'd spend the bulk of the day Saturday hitting yard sales and thrift stores. Some weekends, particularly if it was raining on the weekends, I might hit fewer thrift stores, and concentrate more on listings. Sundays were predominantly listing days for store-inventory listings. Don't get store inventory (also may be referred to as 'fixed price' listings) confused with auctions listings.
Monday - Thursdays were my auction listing days. I wanted my auctions to be 7-day auctions, starting on any day between Mon - Thurs, and in the evenings, when most of my buyers would be home in front of their computers.
Monday - Saturdays were also my shipping days. It wasn't unreasonable to get home from work for the day, log in to my ebay, see what I sold since the last time I checked in, box up my sold items and get them ready to go out in the mail either later that same day, or in the following day's mail.
This became my routine, and it worked out well for me. Then, I was able to quit my 9 - 5 and concentrate solely on listing and selling
