Where to begin, where to begin??

I assume that you're interested in learning to ebay. Join the crowd! You'll be in good company. There are upwards of 150,000,000+ ebay users registered worldwide, but don't let that figure scare you in to submission. Rather, consider that number as the number of potential BUYERS willing to see, bid on and BUY whatever it is you have to offer!

I've begun a number of pages and posts within this blog. You'll see the pages organized across the top of this site, working your way from left to right. Some of the information is pretty basic, but, come on....  I have to assume some, if not most of you reading this are completely new to computing, if not new to the internet, and the concept of online trading.

Most of my individual posts are on my "Home" page. It is here where I presume you'll likely do most of your reading. Just scan the posts I've begun there on my "Home" page. Begin with the ones that interest you most, or the ones you're having the most trouble with. Skip over ones that you aren't too concerned with now, and come back to read them at your leisure some other time.

I won't bore you with all the details of how ebay got started and all that. It is an interesting read, so if you have the time, by all means do a quick google search. Read up on the beginnings of the site that is about to afford you some extra spending money, new internet prowess, and perhaps even a complete internet makeover. You may just end up like one of the thousands who now make their living full-time off the internet, off ebay, selling non-stop to anyone and everyone around this incredible blue planet....  to anyone with the cash to buy whatever it is you are selling!

Keep in mind that inch-thick books have been written about how to sell on ebay. Books are nice and dandy, helpful, and are easily available at any bookstore or library in any town or city across the US. The problem is that books are so often, and so quickly irrelevant, obsolete or totally outdated. Hence, my blog. Blogs, such as the one you are reading right now, can be updated immediately to reflect current changes to the ebay landscape. Hardly a week goes by, it seems, when something new isn't being announced that has some impact on how you will be selling on ebay.

My blog is also offering ebay newbies something else that books can't offer: videos as well as an option to personally chat with me, either by email or by phone. Granted, this option isn't for everyone. I have an online presence to run. Buyers to satisfy. Boxes to ship. Items to list. All things that you, too will likely be doing in the near future. I can't spend ALL my time on the computer answering emails or on the phone answering questions- it's physically impossible. But I will answer as many as I can.

So, without further ado, browse at your leisure to the many posts I've already typed up thus far. My posts are the culmination of years and years of ebaying experience. Am I am ebay expert? Is anyone really an ebay expert? The website is changing so fast, the world is changing so fast, technology is changing so fast that I'd have to answer that no one is a true bonafide expert on the topic. But, I've been at it since 1997, so I think that allows me some boasting room. And now, ebay is ALL I do. All I do is list and sell all day long. Ebay's given me the opportunity to actually be my own boss. To work my own hours. To have all the free time I want, or the option to work as much or as little as I want, whenever I want.

Are you ready to do the same?

It won't be easy. Nothing ever is, except winning the powerball after buying one ticket in ones' life. No, no one ever said ebay is easy. But, it'll be easier for you than it was for me. Why is that? Because you now have a website that will answer many of your beginning questions and hopefully point you in the right direction. To avoid some of the mistakes I've made. To prevent you from falling in to the same traps I've fallen in to. And, hopefully, to allow you to do what so few people can actually tell their bosses on their last day of work: "Take this job and shove it!", to paraphrase the immortal Johnny Paycheck.

Allow me to clarify a statement I made above. Selling on ebay is not ALL I do. It is where I began, and I've diversified to other sites. I sell an enormous amount on Cafepress.com, but that's an entirely different way of selling. I sell on numerous sites, and would advise anyone else to do the same, but for now, I'd recommend just learning how to sell on ebay, and then spread your wings at some point down the road when you're ready to take on some new challenges.

So, explore this blog. Look around at the other pages and the other posts. Keep in mind that I am sort of new to explaining. Your feedback is very helpful. Am I being descriptive enough? Did I leave out a step or two? Is there a topic you need help with that I haven't covered yet, and one which you'd like a post begun about? Are my YouTube videos helpful in the least? Let me know how I am doing here. I can sell like it's no ones' business, but I am just getting started in the business of showing others how to sell like it's no ones' business!
